Introducing the new Committte for the 2024-2025 Financial Year.

President: Tony Wilson

Tony is a very active flyer and club member. He was Secretary of the BADMAC club for the last 6 years. He enjoys building and flying scale warbirds, float planes, turbines and is also an active IMAC flyer alongside his son, Darcy.  Tony is passionate about improving clubs and promoting aeromodelling.

Vice President: Les Mariner

Les has been flying RC Planes since 1978 and is a member of the Lilydale club. les became an instructor in 1992. Les currently has the very important job of groundsman at the Lilydale club where he was a past president for a term of 8 years. 
Currently Les is the Vice president of the VMAA and State Flying Instructor and has seven on the VMAAA committee for 4 years.
Les likes to build and fly scale aerobatics.

Secretary: Joe Finocchiaro

Joe is a member of the MWMAA and has been the VMAA secretary for a consecutive 6 years.

Treasurer:Mark Peterson

Mark learned to fly RC in 1984 at Ararat and enjoys most forms of flying, scale & gliders being the current favourites. Mark is an Instructor and a current member of NFG as well as being a life member of MWMAA.

Contest Director: Ricardo Bertuna

Ricardo is a member of NFG and the President of the ASAA.

Registrar: Ian Mackay

Ian has been a member of Bairnsdale Model Aero Club since 2006, and combined has been on the club committee and acted as club Treasurer for more than 17 years.
Ian’s interests in Model Aircraft was kindled in the 1960’s and became more active since the early 2000’s. Current RC interests now include flying Gliders and smaller electric models and being active on the club committee. Ian joined the VMAA committee in 2024 and brings a wealth of business and club experience to the group.

Committee member 1: Mark Sills

Mark is the president of NFG and has served on the VMAA commiteee now for 5 years. Mark is a regular at IMAC events and is best known for flying park flyers….

Committee Member 2: Phil M

Phil is a member of the BRAG club,  one of the founding members of the club and Secretary of the club for the first 3 years. Phil is current serving his 3rd year on the VMAA committee and has been appointed Webmaster. Phil enjoys flying his Extra and Edge, while the shed is home to many planes including biplanes, warbirds and gliders. Collecting pilot kits has become one of the side interests.
Phil’s Son usually accompanies his dad down to the club, is learning to fly and helps with the sausage sizzle.

David is a member of the P&DARCS club and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.

Webmaster: Phil M
